# Your first five minutes

> The first time you open Dabadoro with a new account, Daba runs a short guide: add a task, put it in your day, pick it, start the focus timer and finish it to earn your first coins. Try the same five steps on the board below, then do them in the app.

## Add a task

Press + and type one thing to do.

In the **Tasks** panel, press **Create task**, type a title and save it. A new task pays 10 coins when you finish it.

**If it does not appear**

The + sits at the top of the Tasks panel. In the classic layout the left panel shows one view at a time. Press `2`, or choose **Tasks** at its top. More in [tasks and topics](https://dabadoro.com/docs/tasks-and-topics/).

## Put it in your day

Drag your task into the bright box.

The bright box is the hour block with the red now line, but any hour of today counts.

**If it does not appear**

The guide counts tasks planned for today. If the schedule shows another day, press **Now** to come back. Past days stay read-only. See [the schedule](https://dabadoro.com/docs/dashboard-and-schedule/).

## Pick your task

Click your task to pick it.

The timer panel then shows its title, and **Start focus** wakes up.

**If it does not appear**

Click the card on the schedule, not in the Tasks list.

## Start focusing

Press Start focus and work on your task.

The focus timer counts down from 25:00. Switch to another window and the [floating timer](https://dabadoro.com/docs/floating-timer/) keeps the countdown in view.

> **Shortcut:** Press `Space` to start or pause the timer while the Dabadoro window is in front.

## Finish and get coins

When you're done, press the tick.

Press the tick beside the button. The task completes and its coins fly to your balance in the title bar.

**If it does not appear**

The tick shows only while the timer runs. A task with a timer also completes by itself when the time is up.

## Where your coins go

Your coins live here. Spend them in Rewards.

The coin chip holds your balance. On the **Rewards** page you price rewards and redeem them.

> **Note:** Coins come from finishing things. Time earns XP. The details are in [rewards, coins and XP](https://dabadoro.com/docs/rewards-coins-xp/).

## Show the guide again

Daba shows the guide once on each computer, for an account with no tasks, habits or completions yet.

1. **Open Settings**

   Click the gear in the title bar.

2. **Choose the System tab**

   It is just above Support, the last tab.

3. **Press Show the guide again**

   It is on the Guide row.
