# Keyboard shortcuts

> Dabadoro has 15 keyboard shortcuts, and you can change any of them in Settings, on the Shortcuts tab. Space starts or pauses the focus timer, P switches between Timer and Pomodoro, and F cycles fullscreen. Ctrl Z undoes the last change (Cmd Z on a Mac). Shortcuts work while the Dabadoro window is in front.

## Focus timer

Start, pause and switch the timer, and open or leave fullscreen focus.

*Focus timer shortcuts*

| Keys | Action | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `Space` | Start or pause focus timer | Starts or pauses the selected task or habit, or the break that is running. |
| `P` | Switch Timer/Pomodoro mode | Switches between the plain Timer and Pomodoro modes. |
| `F` | Cycle fullscreen mode | Normal, fullscreen inside the window, then fullscreen on the whole screen. |
| `Esc` | Exit fullscreen | Returns from either fullscreen mode to the normal workspace. |
| `Ctrl+Enter` | Set real time for focus activity | Logs the real time for the selected task or habit today, without time XP. In beta. See [complete past days](https://dabadoro.com/docs/complete-past-days/). |

> **Note:** Space reaches the timer from any tab. On Analytics or Rewards it switches to the dashboard first. The [floating timer](https://dabadoro.com/docs/floating-timer/) has its own Pause button.

## Views and panels

Move between the Timer, Tasks and Habits views, and change what the schedule shows.

*Views and panels shortcuts*

| Keys | Action | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `A` | Previous navbar view | Moves one view back among Timer, Tasks and Habits. |
| `D` | Next navbar view | Moves one view on among Timer, Tasks and Habits. |
| `1` | Show Timer view | Shows the Timer panel. |
| `2` | Show only Tasks view | Shows the Tasks panel and hides the other left-panel views. |
| `3` | Show only Habits view | Shows the Habits panel and hides the other left-panel views. |
| `V` | Switch schedule view | Hourly rows or compact cards inside each period. Period columns view only. |
| `Ctrl+H` | Toggle activity heatmap | Shows or hides the activity heatmap under the schedule. |

## Undo and redo

Most changes can be undone, including a delete and an applied AI programme.

*Undo and redo shortcuts*

| Keys | Action | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `Ctrl+Z` | Undo | Undoes the last change. |
| `Ctrl+Shift+Z` | Redo | Redoes the last change you undid. |
| `Ctrl+Y` | Redo (alternate) | A second key for Redo. |

## Zoom

The zoom keys are fixed. No shortcut can take them.

*Zoom shortcuts*

| Keys | Action | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `Ctrl+=` | Zoom in | Larger, up to 200%. |
| `Ctrl+-` | Zoom out | Smaller, down to 28%. |
| `Ctrl+0` | Reset zoom | Back to 100%. |

Ctrl with the mouse wheel zooms too. The same setting is on the Appearance tab as [Zoom](https://dabadoro.com/docs/settings/#zoom).

## Change a shortcut

Open Settings and choose the Shortcuts tab. The tab lists every shortcut with its key.

*Figure: The Settings tabs with Shortcuts chosen.*

- **Shortcuts**: Every shortcut, its key and its hint switch.

| Rule | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| New key | Press the new key in the shortcut's field, alone or with Ctrl, Shift or Alt. |
| Unassign | Clears the shortcut. Its hint next to the button hides too. |
| Reset to default | Brings the original key back, unless another action uses it now. |
| Taken keys | A key that another action uses is refused, and the field names that action. |
| Hints | Each shortcut can show its key next to its button. Four start hidden: Set real time, Undo and both Redo keys. |
| When they pause | While you type in a field and while a dialog is open. The first-run guide does not stop them. |
| Other computers | Your keys follow your account, so a change on one computer applies on the others. |
