Refund policy

How refunds and cancellations work for Dabadoro Pro, Max, Team and Education.

Page updated

Summary

  • Cancel during the free trial and you pay nothing.
  • Where the law or Paddle's refund policy gives you a right to withdraw, you can use it, and we take no fee from that refund.
  • We do not refund renewals, except where the law or Paddle's policy gives you a new right to withdraw, as in the UK each time a yearly plan renews.
  • We do not refund unused time when you cancel, except after a change that makes your plan worse or a change to our terms you don't accept. Cancel at any time and you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
  • If you delete your account, a Pro or Max plan ends at once. Unused time is not refunded, except where you can still withdraw, a change has made your plan worse or you don't accept a change to our terms. To keep the plan, cancel first and delete your account after it ends.
  • Any other refund is up to us. It is the amount you paid minus the fee Paddle keeps, 5% of the payment plus $0.50.
  • Paddle's own refund policy also applies. Where it or the law gives you more, you get more.
  • If we suspend your account, we refund the unused part of your plan.
  • If we make your plan worse in more than a small way, you can end it and we refund the unused part, worked out by the day.
  • If our server cancels a subscription our rules don't allow, we refund the payment in full.

Who handles your payment

Paid plans are sold through Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, sends your receipt and issues refunds. Your bank statement names Paddle.

Paddle's buyer terms also apply to your purchase.

Free trials

Your first Pro or Max plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Paddle takes your card details but charges nothing during the trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you are never charged; you keep your plan until the trial's last day.

If you do not cancel, Paddle takes the first payment when the trial ends. On a monthly plan that is the full monthly price. On a yearly plan the first year is 25% off, then the plan renews at the full yearly price. In the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the UK, Paddle's refund policy gives you 14 days to withdraw from that day.

Each account gets one free trial. Team and Education plans have no trial.

Your right to withdraw

Where the law or Paddle's refund policy gives you a right to withdraw from the purchase, you can use it without giving a reason. You get the refund the law or that policy gives, and we take no fee from it.

In the EU, the EEA and the UK, consumers have 14 days by law, counted from the day the plan starts, so on a plan with a free trial they run during the trial. Paddle's refund policy gives 14 days again once a free trial ends, in the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. In the UK, it also gives a yearly plan 14 days again each time it renews.

After a refund, the plan ends at once and the app returns to the free plan. Your tasks, habits and focus history stay where they are.

Renewals and other refunds

We do not refund renewals, except where the law or Paddle's policy gives you a new right to withdraw. For example, in the UK Paddle's refund policy gives a yearly plan 14 days again each time it renews.

We do not refund the unused part of a month or year after you cancel. The exceptions are a change that makes your plan worse, as If we make your plan worse explains, and a change to our terms you don't accept: end the plan before the change takes effect by writing to us, and we refund the unused days, worked out by the day, as our terms explain.

We may give a refund in other cases, at our discretion. Paddle does not give back its fee when a payment is refunded, so we keep that fee: 5% of the payment plus $0.50. The refund is the amount you paid minus that fee. For example, on a $36 payment the fee is $2.30 and you get $33.70 back.

After such a refund, the plan ends at once, as it does after a full refund.

How to ask for a refund

Use either of these:

  • An email to from the address on your receipt, with the order number if you have it.
  • Paddle's buyer support at paddle.net, since Paddle sells the plans as our reseller.

The money goes back to the card or account you paid with. How long it takes to appear depends on your bank.

Cancelling a plan

Cancel at any time in Dabadoro (Settings, then Account, then Manage plan) or on dabadoro.com/billing/manage/ after signing in. You are not charged again, and you keep your plan until the end of the month or year you already paid for.

Cancelling on its own does not refund the current period. If you can still withdraw, a change has made your plan worse, or you don't accept a change to our terms, ask for a refund as well.

During a free trial, cancelling is all you need to do: nothing has been charged, so there is nothing to refund.

If you delete your account

Deleting your account cancels a Pro or Max plan at once, and the plan ends with it. During a free trial, nothing is charged.

We do not refund the unused part of a month or year. Deleting your account does not take away a refund you could get otherwise: a right to withdraw, a change that makes your plan worse, as If we make your plan worse explains, or a change to our terms you don't accept. Once your account is deleted, ask by email or through Paddle, as How to ask for a refund explains.

To keep the time you paid for, cancel the plan first and delete your account after the plan ends.

If you bought a Team or Education plan on dabadoro.com/teams/, deleting your account cancels it at the end of the year you paid for. Its members keep the plan until then, but nobody can manage the organisation or renew it.

If a payment reaches us after you delete your account, such as a renewal or a checkout you paid just before, we refund it in full.

Team and Education plans

The same rules apply to Team and Education plans. Seats removed during the year are not refunded, and the plan runs to the end of the year.

Education is only for schools, colleges and universities, and everyone who uses a Team or Education seat must meet the minimum age in our terms. The person who orders the plan confirms both. If we learn that an Education buyer is not a school, college or university, or that someone below that age uses a seat, we may cancel the plan and refund the payment in full, and the plan ends at once.

If we suspend your account

If we suspend an account for breaking the terms, we cancel its subscription at once and refund the unused part of the period it paid for, worked out by the day.

If we make your plan worse

If a change makes your plan worse in more than a small way, such as a lower daily AI limit or a paid feature taken away, we email you at least 30 days before it applies. Until 30 days after it applies, you can end the plan by writing to us, and we refund the paid days you haven't used, worked out by the day, with no fee taken. If the law or a security problem makes us act sooner, we tell you as soon as we can, and you have 30 days from our email. The Terms of Service explain which changes count.

Chargebacks and disputes

If you dispute a payment with your bank, the paid plan ends at once and we cancel its subscription, so it does not renew. If your bank decides the payment stands and part of the period you paid for is left, you get that part back, and the plan still does not renew. Writing to us first is usually faster.

Your legal rights

Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

Paddle's refund policy also applies to your purchase. Where it or the law gives you more than this page does, you get more.
