Download Dabadoro for Linux

Dabadoro runs on 64-bit Linux as an AppImage, a .deb or an .rpm package. It needs WebKitGTK 4.1, which Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 38 and later include. Choose the AppImage for updates from inside the app. Then sign in with a free account in your browser.

Dabadoro installs on a computer. On this phone, the free web Pomodoro timer runs in your browser.

Install on Linux

Pick a format, then follow its steps. The commands use the file names from the current release.

AppImageRecommended

One file that runs from any folder. It updates from inside the app, with no root password.

.deb package

For Debian and Ubuntu. Installs with apt. To update, install the new file from this page.

.rpm package

For Fedora. Installs with dnf. To update, install the new file from this page.

Install the AppImage

  1. Move it to the folder it will live in

Sign-in returns to the app through a link registered from the file's location. Move the file before the first launch.

    • mkdir -p ~/Applications
    • mv ~/Downloads/Dabadoro_1.2.1_amd64.AppImage ~/Applications/
  2. Make it executable

Run the command, or tick Allow executing file as program in the file's properties.

    • chmod +x ~/Applications/Dabadoro_1.2.1_amd64.AppImage
  3. Start it

Double-click the file. If nothing opens, install FUSE 2, which AppImages need. Pick your distribution to see the command.

    • sudo apt install libfuse2
  4. Sign in through your browser

Dabadoro needs a free account. It syncs your data, and after this first sign-in the app also works offline. How sync works.

Install the .deb or .rpm package

Debian and Ubuntu

  • sudo apt install ~/Downloads/Dabadoro_1.2.1_amd64.deb

Fedora

  • sudo dnf install ~/Downloads/Dabadoro-1.2.1-1.x86_64.rpm

Then open Dabadoro from your app menu and sign in through your browser, as in step 4 above.

Requirements and updates

What it runs on

Linux x86_64 with WebKitGTK 4.1 (Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+, Fedora 38+). ARM Linux, Ubuntu 20.04 and Debian 11 are not supported.

Updates

The AppImage downloads and installs updates when you choose. Packages update from this page. How updates work.

The sign-in link

The link back to the app needs xdg-utils. If sign-in never returns, start the AppImage from its folder and sign in again.

Uninstall

Delete the AppImage file, or remove the .deb or .rpm package with your package manager. Your synced data stays in your account.

Questions about Linux

Should I choose the AppImage, the .deb or the .rpm?

Choose the AppImage for updates from inside the app, without root. The .deb and .rpm packages update when you install the new file from this page.

The AppImage does not start. What is missing?

AppImages need FUSE 2. Install libfuse2, or libfuse2t64 on Ubuntu 24.04 and later, then start it again. As a last resort, run the file with --appimage-extract-and-run.

Sign-in does not return to the app. How do I fix it?

The sign-in link points at the AppImage's folder and needs xdg-utils. Keep the AppImage in one folder, start it from there, and sign in again.

Which distributions are supported?

64-bit x86 systems with WebKitGTK 4.1, such as Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 38 and newer releases. ARM Linux, Ubuntu 20.04 and Debian 11 are not supported.
